Japan Post’s Delivery Service to All Users

Striving for a UI design that enables effortless selection, even on smartphones with smaller screens

Coosy was tasked to revamp the UI/UX of Japan Post’s official mobile website. Offering a range of services such as ‘Postcode Search,’ ‘Parcel Tracking,’ ‘Post Office Locator,’ ‘Delivery Application,’ and ‘Pricing Calculator,’ Japan Post required an organised and user-friendly interface. To ensure a seamless navigation, we focused on creating a homepage with large buttons depicting each service, featuring a recognisable icon corresponding to the service. This layout allows users to easily locate and access their desired service upon their initial visit. The UI was meticulously crafted to facilitate smooth operation on smartphones, featuring large, easily legible text and a user-friendly button layout.

Simplifying Difficult Service Description Pages

When a user navigates to a service detail page, any potential challenges stemming from the complexity of the layout may prompt the user to leave the site. To ensure user engagement, we focused on simplifying the information and enhancing UI design of the service description pages, which often tend to be complex. For instance, on the ‘Send parcels’ page, we enabled users to select between Yu-Pack and Letter-Pack based on their specific usage scenario and package size/quantity. Each service is accompanied by simplified explanations and illustrative diagrams to facilitate user understanding.

Simple Design for Everyone’s Navigation

Given the diverse age groups of users accessing the Japan Post website, the need for a universally comprehensible UI is essential. To address this, we incorporated a speech bubble-inspired design around the headlines, facilitating a clear understanding of the content. Furthermore, we enhanced the comprehensibility of the information by alternating background colours and enclosing categories with lines, implementing colour-coded buttons to distinguish the varying levels of importance.
